Scannells is a great spot for lunch, you’ll find the locals all pointing you in their direction. No evening meals available though. Tel: (023) 8834116
The Malthouse Granary Restaurant offers a selection of tasty, hearty meals. Book in advance as it is quite small. Food is locally produced or homemade so is quite good quality. Tel: (023) 8834355
Scannells – they don’t just do a good lunch but a good night’s entertainment too. Huge outdoor area and live music sessions, barbeques can be arranged too.
De Barras is the place to head if you want live music. Mixed crowd, always a good atmosphere.
Mick Finns offers live DJs and bands and cocktails. You’ll usually find a mix of hens, stags and a younger crowd in here.
Shanley’s is another good pub although it is isn’t huge. Good music and a right mixture of age groups.
The Venue opens on Friday and Saturday nights and is part of O’Donovans Hotel. Attracts a variety of age groups. Live DJ’s, free cloakroom and a great covered beer garden.
The Emmet Niteclub generally attracts a very young crowd. It hosts different theme nights frequently such as foam parties which can make for an interesting hen party.
The Emmet Hotel has a niteclub onsite and serves as a boutique hotel. Basic hen party accommodation. Guests get free entry to the niteclub.
The Quality Hotel offers leisure facilities and beauty treatments as well as dining options and a good bar. There are self-catering apartment suites on the hotel grounds which are favoured by hen parties.
O’Donovans Hotel has a prime location – right in the middle of the Main Street. The Venue Nightclub is part of the hotel hence hens have a very short stroll if they want to go clubbing. 3 star family run hotel.
