Anything worth doing is worth doing slowly.” Gypsy Rose Lee
One thing we can guarantee with this class is you will be speaking about it for a long time to come!
Burlesque is definitely one of the more risquée dance styles. Tease is the name of the game here, but don’t worry we keep it light and fun.
We have no doubt that everyone will learn a little something that will come in handy in the future… Don’t underestimate the power of the skills you will learn in this class!
A burlesque class requires a few props. We can loan you some and ask you to pick up the rest… after all they may come in handy when you hit the town later!
Meet our Burlesque characters, you will play one of them!
She’s often the leader of a group. The kind of person you’d look up to.
Will walk into a room/party first. Will see a man and say “He’s mine, don’t touch him!” And over there he’s mine too!”
She moves with confidence. Sharp and fast.
Often wears black or red.
She is the type of woman who can have a one night stand and not feel bad about it.
She takes control in relationships and is very dominant.
She is the first in the dance routine and uses the tie.
Walks in after Femme Fatale.
Movements are slow and graceful.
She is gentle and soft.
Often wears pinks, blues or greens.
Likes beauty in all things.
Is a bit of a day dreamer.
She doesn’t claim men. She waits till they come to her… and they will. They fall deeply in love with her. Adore her, want to marry her and lavish her with gifts.
She is second in the routine and uses the fan.
(Prop: Long gloves)
She will walk in the room and trip, look around with big eyes and fluttering eyelashes blush and give a little giggle.
People love her and she makes a great best friend.
She gets very nervous about things.
Can makes lots of mistakes in whatever she does but totally gets away with it because she is just so cute!
Is slightly helpless and there is always a man ready to come rescue her. Men just love to take care of her.
Often wears bright colours and cute little outfits.
She is third in the routine and uses the gloves.
The Rule Breaker
(Prop: Feather boa)
Will often arrive late… And not be too worried about it.
Constantly making jokes, having a room in stitches.
Is often inappropriate and over the top. Constantly making everything about sex.
Always gets invited to parties as she is such good fun. But sometimes drinks a bit too much and gets a bit messy.
Does things her way and finds it very hard to take orders.
Doesn’t care so much if her clothes or colours fit in once she feels good on them.
Falls for bad boys and they fall for her. Always with some drama going on.
She is the last in the routine and uses the feather boa.

How long is the class?
An hour and a half with 2 short breaks.
Can everyone participate?
Absolutely! We want everyone to join in and have fun. If someone can not participate in the actual class due to medical reasons or otherwise, they can still join us and be a cheerleader, take pictures, or simply sit down and enjoy the show.
What should we wear?
It’s up to you, most groups prefer casual wear but going the extra mile and actually dressing up for the class can be a lot of fun.
